People that don’t like cats

I have my cross-stitch going, ehm, slowly…

Really, I’m not far along at all. Called “People that don’t like cats must have been mice in a previous life…”. On of the few cross-stitch patterns I actually liked. Most of the designs I’ve found are just flowers and stuff. Unless I get the Subversive Cross-stitch book I don’t see myself doing this a lot (Time consuming, very time consuming).

Somewhat Cowl 70%

Tada! Now I only have the arms left of the Somewhat Cowl :P

Now it’s big and complicated to drag around. Last week I was working on it both at the bottom and the top(the bottom ribbing and the cowl ribbing)

During the project I’ve bougth 6 circular needles. No… wait, 7 sets. Just different length of the 5mm and 4.5mm. And a cross-stitch kit.

Popcorn

I’m working on a cross-stitch kit (it was kind of free, following a magazine, I had to buy it) called Popcorn and it’s not done, yet.

Despite the fact that it’s a puny little pattern, it have taken me forever, and I’m not done. (YET!)
To make things weirders, as if it needed to be that, the pattern is a girly thing, a teddy bear holding flowers surrounded by pink hearts.

I’m just waiting for my circular 5mm needles to do something I actually like.

The cross-stitching will be shown here when my camera works again, as will Clapotis.

fever

”that’s… nice….”
The reason to why I’m at all writing this entry, is that I discovered that even how bad you arse something up in knitting, frogging it will not try to kill you, except if it’s mohair, and then you can fake it, and just move along, pretending like it never happened ;)

Wednesday I felt a little off.
Thursday morning I was dizzy.
Thursday at five I was stumbling.
At seven I had to leave work, as it probably looked like I was drunk and high.
Friday morning, I woke up, and couldn’t move.

But I’m easily bored, and couldn’t just lie there.
I tried TV, but daytime TV is a slow form of mental torture.
Unable to read properly…
And idea came to me.

”why don’t I try out the free cross-stitch kit I got the other day?

Bad idea, bad bad idea.
After ripping out half the stitches three times, discovering that I had used the wrong colours all the time. I said: Fuck it. And threw it against a wall..

Not something to try out for the first time in 12 years when you have a fever?

New Hobby?

March 21st, 2006 by Cecilie | 1 Comment | Filed in Needlecraft

I’m not shure if it’s something I’m going to like, at all.

But as of now, I will try to dabble into cross-stich. Partly because it looks cool. And partly because I found Subversive Cross-stich a couple of days ago. And the appeal of having a framed stiched picture saying Irony Is Not Dead really gets to me.

A new hobby and a new categorie it is.
