Damson in Bluegrass

Not long ago I received the long awaited paper edition of Whimsical Little Knits 2 and despite the fact that I still have a couple of midwinter presents (or christmas presents if you wish) to knit I just couldn’t resist casting on Damson.

I actually started in a red yarn before I realised that it would run out halfway trough the scallops. So I’m making it in the bluegrass colourway of Sock! Merino by Lisa Souza instead. It’s intensely green but that’s fine by me. And as it’s not a gift unlike all the stuff I’ve made for months now… The yarn is quite skinny but very soft and nice to knit with, and I’ve had it for years, thinking that it was too soft for socks. It’s good to use some of the deep stash sometimes.

The picture was taken on my first instalment of the project, before I frogged it and started in on smaller needles. The fabric just felt too airy and the shawl was too small. I had reached the lace scallops and had a lot of yarn left so this time I’m making the garter stitch portion bigger by 18 or 36 rows.

And I recently bought new stitch markers on Etsy

Seller was Vegancraftastic that I got an awesome project bag from at the same time. I love supporting cool vegans that make nice stuff :)
And I really do heart tofu. To such an extent that I’m off to make some dinner with it now.
