WIP Fetching

Fetching, shot nr 1
Fetching, shot nr 2
As I talked about a couple of days ago I’m knitting Fetchings on the train, they have replaced the socks I’m usually making, I still feel a bit socked-out after this summer.

A few notes on the pair I’m making.

  • 3.5mm needles,
  • Bamboo by Idéna.
  • I’m twisting the cables in the same direction on both, since I’m lazy like that.
  • On the finished one I messed up the distance between two cable rows, oops.
  • Lengthened the part after the tumb to 8 rows instead of 4 before cable twist
  • The yarn is splitty, and has a gazillion plies.

I love them, even though they’re not going to be the warmest fetchings ever (in that respect, bamboo is a bad choice).

    Those look awesome.

I haven’t knit with bamboo yet. My friend in Germany sent me some. I want to make socks. I’m scared of socks.

Ooh, those are pretty! I have about 95% of ONE fingerless glove made — I was going to try to get it(and its mate) done before it got cold again here… but that didn’t so much happen.

marie: try the widdershins pattern on knitty, pretty easy first sock pattern (I’ve infected other people with sock knitting by that pattern a couple of times now).

Socks arn’t hard, just a little challenge the first time, and what’s make them extra fun in my opinion.
