A small rant

I’m furious.
It’s election time, the small kind, local politics.
I try to be and remain an informed citizen, actually using my right to vote, and doing this informed.
This is where the rant comes in: I don’t fecking want to vote on any of the parties out there. I spent three hours listening to them talking about things they either didn’t care about, or didn’t know anything. Most of it was guesswork… and this annoyed me, people should at least do their reaserach before they try to convince me. I don’t want people like that running anything.
And… this is the big part, they contradicted themselves, all the time.
One of the parties in power, that allowed some awfull commercial shit (glowing poster towers) to be planted everywhere in the city actually complained over the bombardment with useless information people have to endure.
Another party complained over the cost of every public service and that there isn’t enough cash to do anything. The same people that forced trough some tax-cuts, big ones, two years ago. And yes, they promise to give even more cuts if they win.
I hate them, politicians. Contradicting themselves, and making me not want to vote.
I hate the system, and the people in it.
Shite.
-at least I got some knitting done listening to the utter bullshit.

Unfortunately I can’t say I’m overly excited about the election process coming up in the u.s. either.
I can totally relate. The Irish had their elections a few months back, polluted the whole city with posters (well, some still hang) and if you actually wanted to hear some opinions, you could forget about it. I wasn’t allowed to vote either way, but if I had, I would have known who.
