The angry hamster

July 29th, 2007 by Cecilie | No Comments | Filed in News, Random

Two quickies for today

1. I’ve been bitten by a hamster. Not mine, but a friends, she’s in Dublin, and I’m not. So among the mountain of boxes is a hamster in a cage. She’s clearly not happy with this (or me, or something) and bit me.
Pictures of the furry little thing will come. Later, when I’m not mad at her any more.

2. I found myself in the news today. Look at the picture in this post at the official ravelry blog. Find me almost in the middle at sixth row from the bottom (the darkish pic in the middle) ;) Fun.

Pissy day

I’ve rambled before about packing and moving. Well, it’s not just that, but cleaning and fixing up problems in the house we’re moving into. Putting in doors and closing others.

Every room of the house is a mess, and I can’t find anything, including my camera cord. No pictures today either, this anoys me, cause I have a great picture off my cabled widdersins in progress. I love them, maybe because they made me learn cabeling without a cable needle. I love them.

The other thing I can’t show you are the fuzzy feet, a stash bust it turns out, it takes a lot of yarn, I might actually run out of the black Cortina Exclusive I bought on sale last year :)

That’s it. I’ll try to unpack the picture cord as soon as possible. The pictures coming then also include the finished Pomatomus and Stripes! sock. :D

Oh, and look here for the upcomming interweave knits projects. I’m making the Dickinson Pullover as soon as possible, I swear…

Yes!

WP plugins and packing life into boxes

July 18th, 2007 by Cecilie | No Comments | Filed in Random

It’s strange when I think about it, but during the 20 years of my life I’ve moved 13-14 times, mostly in the summer. For me warm weather doesn’t mean getting a nice tan, partying all night, making money or reading books under a tree. I wish it did. For me, it means packing up stuff, loading my life into boxes, cleaning the walls and ceiling. It’s saying goodbye and getting lost on the way to buy groceries since it’s all new.

This is the forth summer in a row I’m moving. It makes for less blogging, less pictures since my camera is in a box (I’ll get it out soon, I hope), no new podcasts on my iPod and irregularity.

I’m not on my own computer either, it’s still in the old apartment. And I found some Wordpress plugins I’ll install later for easier use of the blog. And for me to play around with, plugins are great fun :D

  • Geek/Nerd/Dork

Normally I don’t post tests and stuff like that too this site, but this test was just too funny:) (and hit scarily close to home).

    78% Nerd, 69% Geek, 52% Dork

    For The Record:

A Nerd is someone who is passionate about learning/being smart/academia.
A Geek is someone who is passionate about some particular area or subject, often an obscure or difficult one.
A Dork is someone who has difficulty with common social expectations/interactions.
You scored better than half in all three, earning you the title of: Outcast Genius.

Outcast geniuses usually are bright enough to understand what society wants of them, and they just don’t care! They are highly intelligent and passionate about the things they know are *truly* important in the world. Typically, this does not include sports, cars or make-up, but it can on occassion (and if it does then they know more than all of their friends combined in that subject).

Outcast geniuses can be very lonely, due to their being outcast from most normal groups and too smart for the room among many other types of dorks and geeks, but they can also be the types to eventually rule the world, ala Bill Gates, the prototypical Outcast Genius.

    Congratulations!

    Take it yourself here.
