FO: twisted socks

June 19th, 2007 by Cecilie | No Comments | Filed in Knitting, Random

They’re done!

I loved working on them, almost as much as I love having them done. The pattern is just interesting enough to be fun, and almost easy enough to knit in the dark. The reason I know this is the first sock being a bit off here and there on the cuff.

Yarn: Trekking xxl 108
Pattern: RPM from knitty
modified: the twist turns the opposite way on the second sock

Ravelry News: I’m in! Got the invite last night :D I’m having a lot of fun with it. Well worth the wait.
My username there as well is Tekopp.

The reward

I’m done with the exams! (I feel like dancing).
This means that I’m graduating next week :D

This morning, I came to the conclusion that re-reading and stressing myself out was a bad idea. To stress down a little bit, I picked up Thermal.

I’ve been rather slow at it the last week or so, only finishing the second sleeve and doing the button band (all five inches of it). Now I’m knitting the neckline…

One thing Thermal has taught me is that twisted rib is freakishly easier to do in the round than flat, P tbl (purl trough the back loop) sucks.

Other news: I made an agreement with my partner about the grade I could get at the exam. If I got top grades I would allow myself to buy a drop spindle and some instructions, if I didn’t I could still buy it, but it would go off my personal budget (fair enough, ah?)

lookie!

Knitty summer of 2007

June 14th, 2007 by Cecilie | No Comments | Filed in Knitting, News

The newest knitty is up!
I should be reading about genetics and atoms, not drooling over Coachella, I’ll wait a couple of days before finding and buying the yarn for it. The construction of it is going to make it look great on me. Pretty in the back while covering and drawing attention towards the chest. Love it.

My thing for socks published in knitty is stil there ‘Vog on in toe up version jumped ahead on my list. I even have the yarn for it.
Coupling looks drool-worthy as well, but uses a thicker yarn, the only reason their not on the list as well. Yet…
Sweatpea actually has yarn in the stash as well… purty.

Sophie is the pattern in this issue that makes me think. It’s probably going to be a sweater when I make it. Long sleeves is one of those things the climate around here calls for most of the year…

Endings

First, the knitting content: Finished the second sleeve on Thermal, not terribly much left to do on it now. Maybe I’ll actually finish it before the Summer of Socks start up?

Media stuff: brilliant cartoons at Mutts-comics.
The best tv-show House MD

Personal:My last exam is on Friday, in science. The class actually has such a generic name, not biology or physics, but science, natural science. It’s one of the classes I’m good at, so I’m happy.

Waiting for Ravelry

I’m dreaming about ravelry, and that’s before I’m even in, maybe it’s a good thing, all things considered?

But I had a peek at it today, and… WOW!
