Building a stash

I have a small stash, really, I do. Just look for yourself

So, since I’m planning to knit lots of socks, and I haven’t enough sock yarn… No really. A couple of days ago I had yarn to make 8 pairs of socks. But finding that my stash actually has diminished, and there was some extra room in my storage-thingy from Ikea.

Allow me represent… the Opal family :D

And no, I feel no guilt, no remorse. I just can’t wait to knit with it…

Good mail day

May 17th, 2007 by Cecilie | 1 Comment | Filed in Random, WIP

I’m having problems coming up with something to write in this post. Let’s just skip the babbeling and go on to the knitting part:

Thermal: I’m now working on some sleeves (I found another set of 2.5 dpn’s, cheap metall ones, but they work)
The photo is a few days old though.

Trekking 108’s: The heel of the first sock is turned! And I’m doing my favorite part of socks, the gusset <3

Summer of Socks

May 13th, 2007 by Cecilie | 1 Comment | Filed in Knitting

I’ve signed up for the Summer of Socks 07 knit-along.
Because, hey, why not?
I love knitting socks, and if the weather turns as warm this summer as last, it’s just about the only thing I can think about knitting.

(Short explanation on that: I’m not only Norwegian, but I’m a Northernnorwegian. Originally from the land of the midnight sun and so forth. It gets a lot warmer in the south of the country then I’m used to. At home, I made the Nordlandskofte in the midst of my last summer up there)

So I went and bought sock yarn! Not at any local place, they don’t carry the good stuff. But at The Loopy Ewe!
*Does a little dance*

there might be some skeins of socks that rock coming up in the not to far future also…

Thermal and the missing needles

May 8th, 2007 by Cecilie | No Comments | Filed in Knitting, WIP

I’ve been working non stop on my Thermal for ten days or so. As it is made out of fingering weight yarn (sock yarn! yay!) it’s taking forever.
Luckily I’m a skinny chick, it’s only 224 stitches around… I’m on the forth ball of yarn, and the waffle repeat is getting to me. I just want it finished so that I would be able to wear it.

I’ve actually managed to forget that it’s worked on the same size needles as most of my socks as well, untill I went rumaging around in my needle collection to find dpn’s. But I didn’t find any. I thought I owned at least two pairs of 2.5mm dpn’s… No, I actually have three
8 may, socks in progress

Maybe I actually will buy another set, or something… I’ll think about it while knitting the interesting part of thermal (yep, the shoulders)
