(insert witty title here)

In the chaos of moving, starting school and with some additional problems (first with  my job, them with being sick, then with money… and so on… Nothing and everything has been going on at the same time.

Not much writing, knitting or even geeky time online has been possible (I’ve tried and failed miserably).
Even now, over a month after moving we don’t have web-connection, I have no money to spend at yarn and school is probably going to stress me into shattering for real this year.

The only time I had to take pictures were in the middle of the night, hence the wonkyness.

I’ve finished the Trekking socks though, and I love love love the result. (Someone, anyone is allowed to give me some of their trekking sock yarn. Ok?)

The idéna tank top is nearing finished as well, with only the sewing and crocheting left to do. Apparently, every border should have a crochet edging in Idénas mind, a quick glance trough their patterns says this pretty much out loud.

Oh, and the joy of some fun little knitting was reavaled to me in the Ballband dish/washcloth from Mason-Dixon. I <3 it!

Mystery Socks

September 1st, 2006 by Cecilie | No Comments | Filed in Knitting

My mystery sock pattern will (probably) be Rustic Arrow. Having lots of sock yarn in the stash, finding yarn shouldn’t be a problem.

But why am I stash diving when buying new stuff is so fun? Well… not because of some crazy idea that I need to go on a yarn-diet. No way!

No, it’s because all the money I have are earmarked for something as silly as food, rent, and bills. This is the reason I stash. Sometimes your stash is all you have ;)

Moving woes

August 16th, 2006 by Cecilie | No Comments | Filed in Random

I’ve found the cooking pots. Bought towels, and a can opener.

Still no web connection (I’m sitting at a café on Oslo S writing)
Downloading podcasts and checking out some stuff and so on.

Finished objects? Neh. I’ve been reading instead. Marian Keyes makes good books
and I got one of those. Sometimes, one have to chose.
I love not having to work today, and actually do stuff… like finishing the book and making some rows at the sock…

Strawberry and peppermint tea is my new friend.

On the move

August 7th, 2006 by Cecilie | No Comments | Filed in Random

I’m living in lots of big brown boxes. Trying to unpack is harder than it sounds, with us not having a book shelf (and we own hundreds of books), not finding cooking pots, towels and a few other things…

Also, no internet connection yet. And… to make things even stranger, not really time to knit.  Not as in no time, but still… the only thing that gets worked on is the trekking socks.

longer post with pictures of stuff I’ve done coming up whenever I can. (I’ve done stuff I’m proud of, so pictures will come).

Upcomming sweaters

July 31st, 2006 by Cecilie | 2 Comments | Filed in Knitting

I’m very into the idea of doing sweaters now, knowing that school and fall/winter is coming in not too long a time (realistic, not depressive way of thinking). A little list then. They are probably being made in this order as well, unless something else fascinates me before (probably will, my upcomming lists are a bad joke)

  1. 1. The 50`s style sweater from Rowan Vintage Style in Felted Tweed (I love the pattern, I loved the yarn sitting on a shelf, the price freaked me a little…) rowansalina.jpg
  2. 2. Josephine from knitty. Most probably in the nicest alpacca I found the other day. And the lady at the LYS encouraged me to pet it as much as I wanted (sneaky, it was so nice anyone would covet it)josephineBEAUTY.jpg
  3. 3. This in long sleeved version (I’m thinking light grey or deep muddy red)sdgpkpatt.jpg
  4. 4. wrap/cardigan from the rowan book mentioned aboverowanraye.jpg

I have some other ideas as well. Some Fair Isle/stranded patterns, and the Eskimo pattern in some variation of it.
I’m allready looking forward to my fall knitting. This year thick woolen socks and funky sweaters are the main things on my list. Sock pattern list comming soon as well.
