Skully mittens

September 19th, 2006 by Cecilie | 1 Comment | Filed in Knitting, Random

Emerald is enabeling me again, this time for intarcia mittens. Last time it was for lace shawls (resulting in both kiri and my olympic flower basket)

She´s been making stuff out of these patterns, and just look at her things… I crave having my own skully socks and fair-isle skully mittens… And thinking about it, I probably have some Dale of Norway-Hauk in my stash, if not, I know I have some Falk… (let the knitting completly consume me)

Christmas/Yule knitting:

I’ve started thinking about it allready. And this year I’ll probably limit myself to 4-5 projects, I think I said the same thing last year, but this year, everything is going to be different. Knitters has to say that, don’t they? Problem is that I don’t want to knit things for people this year, I don’t want to make them stuff. Most of what I did last year has been used once either because it itches, or it made their head look funny or…. I don’t know. Depends if I can afford gifts at all this year, with my current lack of economy to speak of, it dosen’t look like it… More rambelings on the subject will probably come the next couple of months. If I don’t just say “feck it” and only knit for myself for a while (the next decade maybe).

I had a dream

September 18th, 2006 by Cecilie | No Comments | Filed in Random

I dreamt about merino, soft and turquise. About angora, fluffy and pink, and buttery yellow chasmere.

I dreamt about cables, and miles of coppery merino lace weigth.

And the soft, subtle changes in colors, in the the single plies held together in trekking xxl.

I dream, because, my complete lack of cash, makes dreaming the only possible thing with such luxery.

…. yes, and the dream of ebony needles.

(insert witty title here)

In the chaos of moving, starting school and with some additional problems (first with  my job, them with being sick, then with money… and so on… Nothing and everything has been going on at the same time.

Not much writing, knitting or even geeky time online has been possible (I’ve tried and failed miserably).
Even now, over a month after moving we don’t have web-connection, I have no money to spend at yarn and school is probably going to stress me into shattering for real this year.

The only time I had to take pictures were in the middle of the night, hence the wonkyness.

I’ve finished the Trekking socks though, and I love love love the result. (Someone, anyone is allowed to give me some of their trekking sock yarn. Ok?)

The idéna tank top is nearing finished as well, with only the sewing and crocheting left to do. Apparently, every border should have a crochet edging in Idénas mind, a quick glance trough their patterns says this pretty much out loud.

Oh, and the joy of some fun little knitting was reavaled to me in the Ballband dish/washcloth from Mason-Dixon. I <3 it!

Mystery Socks

September 1st, 2006 by Cecilie | No Comments | Filed in Knitting

My mystery sock pattern will (probably) be Rustic Arrow. Having lots of sock yarn in the stash, finding yarn shouldn’t be a problem.

But why am I stash diving when buying new stuff is so fun? Well… not because of some crazy idea that I need to go on a yarn-diet. No way!

No, it’s because all the money I have are earmarked for something as silly as food, rent, and bills. This is the reason I stash. Sometimes your stash is all you have ;)
