Free yarn

I recently got free yarn, worth almost 400kr :)

How did I do that? 10 balls of a danish cotton-blend yarn? That’s new and fresh out of the yarn store?

I’m doing a window display shawl. That’s why. I have a month to knit it, then the shop will “lend” it from me for 3 weeks. And then it’s mine. all mine. For free.

The pattern I’m doing wasn’t picked by me, but by the store. And a pretty easy lace. A first time lace project I think. With the same stitch pattern as the Kiri-shawl.

It’s ok. But boring. Not mindless, just almost. Love doing a scandinavian pattern again though. It involves a lot more thinking than english/american ones, not everything being said, but just assumed that you know how to read your knitting.

I love that shawl. It is beautiful and I am sure you will do a super excellent job. I would love to be able to work on projects that end up being mine. My Mom worked in a fabric store that would allow her to make “display” items. Fortunately, I was the right size (then) and ended up with some really awesome clothing. Good for you!
