Orange Peel Waffle Socks

March 26th, 2006 by Cecilie | 2 Comments | Filed in Knitting

I finished the Waffle Socks yesterday. And even wove in all the ends (all four)

OrangePeelFO

I love LOVE love this pattern  because it’s a pretty easy pattern to follow, but with enough change to not make me fall asleep (pay attention in other words) but not to complicated that I couldn’t listen to Podcasts while working.

And it fits(!) and I love them. The colour is great. The yarn is Pt5 sport

really, the Jaywalker were ok, but these were great :D

fever

”that’s… nice….”
The reason to why I’m at all writing this entry, is that I discovered that even how bad you arse something up in knitting, frogging it will not try to kill you, except if it’s mohair, and then you can fake it, and just move along, pretending like it never happened ;)

Wednesday I felt a little off.
Thursday morning I was dizzy.
Thursday at five I was stumbling.
At seven I had to leave work, as it probably looked like I was drunk and high.
Friday morning, I woke up, and couldn’t move.

But I’m easily bored, and couldn’t just lie there.
I tried TV, but daytime TV is a slow form of mental torture.
Unable to read properly…
And idea came to me.

”why don’t I try out the free cross-stitch kit I got the other day?

Bad idea, bad bad idea.
After ripping out half the stitches three times, discovering that I had used the wrong colours all the time. I said: Fuck it. And threw it against a wall..

Not something to try out for the first time in 12 years when you have a fever?

New Hobby?

March 21st, 2006 by Cecilie | 1 Comment | Filed in Needlecraft

I’m not shure if it’s something I’m going to like, at all.

But as of now, I will try to dabble into cross-stich. Partly because it looks cool. And partly because I found Subversive Cross-stich a couple of days ago. And the appeal of having a framed stiched picture saying Irony Is Not Dead really gets to me.

A new hobby and a new categorie it is.

Sketch

I used to draw. Not with any idea that I was great at doing so, not wanting, willing anything from others, just creating.

I wrote, stories and poems.
They are dark and disturbing now for me to read, indulging a feeling of doors being shut in your face and things that could never happen. ever.
(and some funny ones, about anger and sex mixed together at an ex)

Now, I knit. I knit for myself, I try out thing, I zone out, I fade away.
Try to absorb energy for my next day at work.

Next week I will write again, and draw.
Just to make up a pattern (I’m planning on a sweater, designing some motifs myself)
or else, the black stockinett will kill me, slowly, with each stich…

I didn’t take along my camera, and feeling the bruises on my body thats probably smart. (I tend to bump into things)

Knitting News is that I finished the Jaywalkers. I’m not proud of them, they look wonky, no pictures at the moment.
