Sampler Stripes

January 12th, 2006 by Cecilie | 2 Comments | Filed in Knitting, WIP

Not very long time ago, I joined a Crochet-A-Long at Crochetville.

An afgahn called Sampler Stripes, it’s a huge project, a blanket some will call it, and it requiers massive amounts of yarn(!). So I did the only logical thing, I went on a yarn-shopping spree, filling the bag with soft and on-sale stuff :D
cheap yarn in bag

yarn! the colors
Pink is the main color, the brown second and white/black is just joining in ;)

So far…

the working part it\’s nearly two meters long!
The yarn is, very… odd, to work with, and the afghan is this far a lot about counting stiches.

I’m so far, very much in love with the project. My precious, My WIP…

Almost

I tend to do things in extremes.
Last night I almost decided on a new one.
(almost)

I put too much into my body.
So I should quit.
With
-coffee
-cigarettes
-alcohol
-my meds
-and everything else

I took a little thinking more, before I figured that it was a sick sick SICK plan…
What good would come out of it? :D

Today breakfast was worthy of champions.
Three cups of coffee, an unknown amount of cigarettes and Tori Amos music.

Finished Kiri

I’m Done with the Kiri Shawl, I really am.
(I just haven’t got to blocking it yet, shame on me, I know)
So this is how it looks at the moment
The unblocked but finished shawl

And a closeup is always nice.
This is, after all, the most complicated lace pattern I’ve made… ever

Kiri Wip- part two

January 2nd, 2006 by Cecilie | 2 Comments | Filed in Knitting, WIP

The kiri shawl is going painfully slow. really painfully, that because I’m at the last couple of rounds. 3 rounds left, actually, with the purl ones.

It’s about 3000 stiches left. but it isn’t going to become a UFO, it isn’t… I hope.

In other words I’m turning on Cast-on and enjoy listening to knitting stuff while suffering on the forever lasting purl stiches…
